Martin Brueckner,

was born on June 21th 1992 in Zwickau. He attends 6th grade of Puschkin secondary school. He is a member of Zwickaus First Club of shots and he likes to collect ammunition and sockets, likes to go fishing and climbing. Since 2002 he is a member of Zwickaus Children and Youth Theatre MondstaubTheater and played the part of Mortimer in "The invisible Princess". Besides this he also plays percussion. His favourite subjects are sports, history, biology and geography. He plays volleyball, badminton, is member of his schools hockey team and likes swimming. And there is a hobby, what nobody might have too: In his garden he likes to dig very deep holes. Later he wants to be a huntsman.

Had you ever imagined this kind of movie while shooting?

Actually not. We filmed not just what you see in the movie, we did a lot more. Every scene we shot several times, because of some things that were not the right way. I never thought about a movie being that good as it is now.

What was the most surprising thing while watching the movie?

The fact that nobody can see all the things behind, that Moritz and I did laugh that much at every scenes beginning and that we were throwing this ears at each other all the time. That was pretty funny but I'm glad, that it is not in the movie.

How was it like on location?

It was so hot. The sun and the heat made it very hard to work. When we had to run through the field we had those prickling wheat everywhere at our legs.

Was it difficult to you to play the much smaller part?

Often it was pretty boring. Moritz had a lot scenes by himself and I was sitting upon the raising stand and was waiting for my next scene, and there was nothing much to do, because I had to be very quiet.

What would be your wish for a next film project?

I had some trouble with all that mimic art and gestures. That are not really favourite things of mine. If there would be any film, with a scene like jumping down a cliff into water, that would be pretty cool.

An action film?

No, not necessarily. No action film everybody would like to do, but something exciting.

What kind of imagination did you get by reading the script?

While reading I never thought the way it would be like it is.

What are the differences between movie and shooting?

Back then in the real field, everything looked different, the light and the colours. And we saw us playing and running through the field ourselves. But now it is cut in a way, that it is not possible to see the fact, that we were running through prepared ways and shot on places that were prepared before. The editing is very interesting and I think it's good that we do not laugh in the film, even though we did it all the time.

Was it a movie about laughing?

No, not at all, but it was the first time for Moritz and me to be in a film as actors. Some of the scenes we thought very funny about, as example the scene with the mouse. That was fun.

Some questions to your dad. Have you read the script?

We had the script, the storyboard and the background information of the story and the aim and object behind all that. But I honestly have to say that my imagination wasn’t that strong to see all this pictures. But maybe we were not busy enough reading the script and everything. But the result is amazing. Actually they wanted to shoot more parts. There was something with a pistol and we as parents had some doubts, if the boys might misunderstand the meaning. But maybe they will shoot those parts next time.

How does it feel seeing his son in a movie? Is this the Martin you know or is it a role?

If you know Martin, you will not recognise him, because he likes much more freedom of movement. As far as that goes, it is really admirable how he played his part, particularly since it doesn’t have anything in common with himself.

Would you let your son be in a movie again?

Yes of course, but it is him, who has to make a decision. He is not just playing in a film, he has sort of get involved with the part he has to play and the character he presents, even if the character hasn’t anything to do with him. This he also gets taught at his theatre group at MondstaubTheater.
